2004 tour dates have now been announced and from Glasgow to Southampton the band will be hitting the road this April.
We are sad to have to tell that we have lost Robin Guy. He has gone to richer and greener pastures and is working with Martin Grech in a live capacity. No hard feelings and we still love Robin very much. Who couldn't? Still, the cloud's silver lining comes in the form of his replacement, Ben Savigear. Dynamic and inventive and with a pierced eyebrow thrown in free! We are currenlty in rehearsal and so I will try to take a photo of him for you so you can see he is just as pretty as Toni and Andy.
Andy, Toni and I have done an interview with Kaleidoscope magazine, so, pick up your copies at Whitby Goth Weekend! More songs written. 'Pretend titles' are 'Star' (very original) and 'Drown Me'. We have an ALBUM TITLE but we don't want to ruin the surprise.
This has been licensed to a third party by Voiceprint (the mother label of Jamtart) and has been done so with the bands permission.
Julianne: We're going to play two nights at London's Borderline on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of December! Now, it's only a small gesture, but we want the first 50 people who want tickets for both nights to be able to have a discount. Tickets will ordinarily be 15 pounds per ticket per night but for the first 50 people who want tickets for both nights we have arranged that they can have them for the combined price of 20 pounds - a nice Xmas saving of 10 pounds. To claim this discount you must phone the Borderline box office directly on 0207 395 0751 (or try 0207 395 0771 as an alternative) - it is not available via any other agency or ticket retailer. There is no special codeword or anything, simply the first 50 people calling the box office directly and buying a ticket for both nights will be given the discount. It does not apply if you only want a ticket for one night. We shall also be playing Nottingham Rock City on the 16th and Manchester Uni on the 17th. Might add one more date somewhere else.. We'll let you know as soon as we know. Love Julianne
PS: We rehearsed our three newest songs last night
and almost wet ourselves with excitement. Hoping for the same response
from those of you at the gigs (sponsored by 'Tena Lady')
A new live DVD is now available called Cinemasonic. It includes the full set of 18 songs (including the 6 new ones and a David Bowie cover) and bonus features include an additional 15 minutes of 'candid' backstage footage. Also available on CD.
There is a rush of radio activity this weekend when myself, Andy and Toni appear on the Matthew Wright show on LBC (97.3 FM in and around London or online at www.lbc.co.uk) on Saturday March 29th for a live interview and live acoustic performance (song still to be confirmed). The show kicks off at 11am and we’re expected there at 11.45. Then, on Sunday from 3 to 6pm, I’m on Natasha’s Batcave show on www.totalrock.com radio, which is available on the Internet and also on Sky Digital (ch 885) and NTL cable (ch 874). We’ll be chatting and listening to all the latest Goth tunes! (Am hoping to persuade Andy to come along…We’ll see….
He may be familiar to any of you who listen to Total Rock radio as he has a show on a Tuesday nights. If his enthusiasm at Sunday's audition is anything to go by, this AAE line-up is going to be a good'un (and erm, a 'colourful' one!) ... Welcome him with the warm and open arms we know you all have!
Julianne, Andy and Toni wish ex-drummer Del all the best Julianne: "He'll be hard to replace as he is a top drummer and a truly lovely guy. Del is moving out of London and this comes just at the wrong time for him and us. We tried to make it work but we'd have all died of stress. And we think Del would've been the first casualty! Good luck to him and we'll miss him very much indeed."
Scottish band, Glass, supported All About Eve when
they last played Glasgow last year. This tour sees them coming along
for the ride at Newcastle, Edinburgh,
Glasgow and also at Norwich. No website as yet, but, you can contact
them at the following email address: davemenzies@tinyworld.co.uk
Thanks to those who sent CD's and demo's to All About Eve regarding support slots for the forthcoming tour in April. Support will be provided by Glass, Karnataka and Dance On Glass Julianne: "We will drop a line to everyone who sent stuff to us, to thank them. And those who were not picked this time, we will certainly keep in mind for future dates. We will confirm bands but can confirm now that we will be supported by Dance On Glass at several of the dates - Thanks, Julianne and Andy." [live dates]
Dance On Glass music is dark, mostly electronic with heavy guitar edge, mysterious, experimental sounds and atmospheric female vocals.
All About Eve are touring next April. They have a support band (Karnataka) for some dates but wonder if there are any bands out there that might want to support them at any of the other dates. Any suggestions of bands would be welcome also, so that All About Eve can approach potential support bands. Please send emails to info@julianneregan.net and send any material by post to Ink & Second Sight, PO Box 529, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 5GR.
A series of new lives dates have been announced around the UK for April 2003. The following dates are confirmed although more are likely to be expected including some Scottish dates. You can also pre-order Iceland and Ink & Second Sight 5 now for shipping on Tuesday 26th November.
Iceland is not really an All About Eve Christmas album. It’s a winter album. It’s too icy and thoughtful to be anything else. But there are flickers and bursts of light in there amongst the darkness. And, it’s more about mistletoe than tinsel…
So, it’s more of an album than an EP, but will be retailing via Candytree and Ink & Second Sight magazine at 10 pounds rather than the usual 12 on the net. Another album of completely new material (including much of the material played on the May 2002 tour) is planned for release to coincide with an April tour. A review of Iceland by our very own Howard Crowe is now available. BUY NOW

We just want anyone thinking about coming there to see us to be able to make an informed decision as the ticket price is not cheap. [More Information]
We sincerely apologise, but due to reasons beyond our control show has to be postponed. We will try and re-schedule for autumn. In the meantime money will be refunded from the venue.
Candytree would like to congratulate the I&SS guys on an excellent review in the latest edition of Record Collector. These guys put days and days of work into it and deserve a little credit once in a while. [Shameless plug: for those that haven't got it go buy it now before stocks run dry] "A superb 72 pages of glossy A5 b&w with splashes of glowing colour, this well-thought-out journal chronicles All About Eve activities past, present and future, and boasts excellent photographs throughout. Beyond the expected news and reviews, there's a lengthy interview with bassist Andy Cousin, the making of 'Touched By Jesus' is in-depth and informative, and the latest tour is outlined, with set-lists and some top stage shots. The '91 tour is recounted with period pics and memorabilia, and exclusive access to Julianne's diaries from the time make for intriguing reading, while the band also talk about their current repertoire in detail. Well worth harbouring."
Four bands have been confirmed to support All About Eve on different stages of the forthcoming tour: Candyheads, Spy51, Glass and Karnataka.
Julianne "I know it's an odd time to be reminiscing when there is so much looking to the future going on, but, Andy, Tim and I have gathered the old Eden releases, b-sides and all, along with some pre-Phonogram demo's and are releasing it under the title "Return To Eden - the early recordings"). There will be some gems on there such as a demo version of In The Meadow which has different lyrics. Full Details.
Since Andy and Julianne have recently parted company with Marty, a new chapter of All About Eve is about to be written with Toni Haimi joining the band. Julianne: "We hope that you'll trust us when we tell you that we've found a great new guitarist with whom we are currently rehearsing both the old and new material. The end of the 'Marty era' will surely be making some of you feel a bit apprehensive about our future, but, the silver lining in that cloud is that we are now in no danger of becoming complacent or of resting on old laurels." more from Julianne and about Toni
Andy and Julianne have parted company with Marty due to the age old cliché of 'musical and personal differences'. They stress that this will not jeopardise the forthcoming tour in any way, nor will it any subsequent dates. The new guitarist will be announced within the next few days. The band are currently in the studio working on new material, some of which will be showcased in May alongside the old favourites. Andy and Julianne wish Marty every success in his future with The Church, his solo work and other projects.
The new official Marty Willson-Piper site includes details of the new live dates keeping Marty busy over the next few months, a new and in-depth interview, a new discography section, a message board and three exclusive tracks for you to download. Lots more will be updated soon.
For the first time in a very long while All About Eve are taking to the road for a full UK electric tour. The dates include the length of breadth of the country including Glasgow to Cornwall and ending up in the great London venue Shepherds Bush empire.
A bootleg version of the Fairy Lights Night CD
has been released which the band are keen to make sure people don't
waste their money on. Julianne: "This album called 'Unplugged'
is simply and illegally repackaged and re-released version of FLN1 so
folks shouldn't waste money on it! Thanks, Julianne"
With the unplugged gigs having doing so well in 2001 All About Eve are back for 2002 with a number of acoustic gigs in January and February including Burton on Trent, Kings Lynn, Portsmouth, Oxford, Hartlepool and Crewe. These are currently the only acoustic dates planned for next year.

They might only perform All About Eve tracks, Anna's solo tracks but may even perform new material written by them both! More details will follow. The gig is on August the 8th at the Mill Arts Centre, Spiceball Park, Banbury (Phone 01295 252050). The doors open at 7.30 and tickets are priced £10 each. The Mill Arts Centre has a capacity of 200.
Julianne : "I was stood in the vortex of a twinkly, sparkly spangled spiraling sonic smoky delicately thrashy twilight midnight dreamworld ... For me, it wasn't perfect. What is? But it was the closest thing."
Jean-Marc and Julianne, who recorded several tracks for a new Jules et Jim release this summer, are hoping to have details of a new Jules et Jim release available soon.. Jean-Marc : "We are currently in the mixing process, and that does take time as the songs are very open to several directions, and we want to be sure the songs sound great and new. So far so good, Gilles Martin (who produced Swimming) is handling some of the mixes and we'll be able to see later this year how we'll finalize the tracklisting .... "
A planned album featuring All About Eve rarities from throughout their career now looks like it won't be happening, unfortunately. It appears that the band isn't able to get permission to use the songs. It's a sad state of affairs when someone won't let you use your own songs, but there you are. However, rumours are starting to increase that the band is looking to find time to start writing some new material at the end of the latest set of acoustic dates in October.
It has recently been announced that All About Eve will be the support band to Fairport Convention for a series of gigs in February 2001. Julianne said: "As it is a support, we will obviously be doing a shorter set, but we will hopefully have a few new songs in the set by then!!" - Dates & booking details If any of you live slightly further afield in the UK than All About Eve have currently visited, then don't give up hope! Julianne recently said: "I am REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to a time then we can venture further afield. Next year, it is a PRIORITY."
We now have a support person for most of the rest of our dates this year, in the form of Anna Ryder. Not only is she more talented musically than us, but she is even funnier! Check out her great new website. Her CD's and books and T-shirts are on sale at our gigs. Get to the shows early if you want to catch her - Julianne.
All About Eve are proud to announce a very special Xmas Concert at the magnificent Victorian Grade 2 listed Union Chapel venue in the heart of Islington London on Saturday 9th December 2000. This concert represents the result of a year of hard touring around the country with the popular 'Acoustic and Unplugged' show and it is hoped that many of the people whom have seen the shows in provinces will make the journey to London for this special Christmas show. However, this date at the Union Chapel will be more than 'unplugged' with members of the 'live'band also being present on stage. 'Call it semi-electric' said Marti - Call it pretty damn special we say! The date at the 1000 capacity Union Chapel will be the largest date the Eves have played in London since 1992. Tickets are on sale now priced at £12 in advance. BOOK NOW
The three live electric gigs go down a real storm with Marty loosing it at Colchester (nobody can deny that guy was fantastic), Dom and Ric doing a fine job, Andy playing like a Devil and Julianne putting a couple of tossers in their place at The Garage ..... full reviews coming soon. Matt : I know you'd all agree with me that its unnecessary but Julianne regrets reacting to those morons and would like to apologies to the real fans ... Julianne : " Having woke up on Saturday morning with a horrible feeling of guilt, I really have to apologise to everyone who was at the Garage for the right reasons. I am embarrassed and regretful that I allowed a couple of hard-core morons to get the better of my temper and allowed them to impose on the whole evening ... " full apology from Julianne
You can catch SPY51 Upstairs at the Garage on July 22nd. They can be contacted by anyone who wants info at the charming website address of : sillycow51@hotmail.com SPY51 will support AAE at the Garage on the 11th of August.
Time seemed to stop for me. I was completely unaware of anyone else around me I was so caught up in what was happening on stage and it's been a long time since I've felt like that. - Howard on the fantastic Penzance gig
Julianne vents her rage at the tossers that keep turning up at the unplugged gigs and nattering away at the back, spoiling the gig for the fans and band alike ..... Julianne : "I have to say that this really pisses me off. I have actually seen these so called 'fans' (I know some of their faces) talking and laughing their way through the gigs.
Just to let you know that we have a *splendid* band supporting us at the Garage on the 11th of August. They are called Spy 51 and I think they have a Pink Floydish but modern beauty about them, also, a top POP sensibility, and, the bird can sing ! - (Beatles fans will know I am not being un-PC by saying that). They feature on guitar, the amazing talents of Ms Charley Stone, a charming lady, friend and ex-member (fools) of Gay Dad. They are playing at The Water Rats in Kings Cross on Friday 13th Of July if anyone wants to check them out. New Jules et Jim album
A new and official All About Eve magazine is being released this summer. "Written by fans, for fans, with the full approval and support of the band, our aim is to cover all things Eve with two A5 magazines a year, supplemented with newsletters for those who request them"
Several more dates have been added, taking the tour into the middle of October. The Borderline is also sold-out so please don't turn up unless you have tickets on the off-chance that you can get in because, sadly, you will not be able to. THE PLACE IS SOLD TO CAPACITY BOTH NIGHTS. Julianne : "Please do not come unless you have a ticket. I would HATE to see you shivering outside with your noses pressed up against the glass knowing that I can not do ANYTHING about it as we will be contravening fire regulations and all sorts of heavy stuff like that. We will play the Garage in August and I am 99% sure that we will do another acoustic show near Christmas, so, it's not your last chance to see us. - Love Julianne."

As some of you may have heard there was a serious assult after the Peterborough gig where three fans Stuart, Aron and Robin were attacked as they walked back to their car. UPDATE : All three are now doing well and recovering from their ordeal.
All About Eve are currently due to headline the opening night on Thursday the 10th of August with the festival carrying on until Saturday night. As soon as all this is done, they can get cracking on production and the album will be out. Realistically, we may be looking at, say, April / May at the latest. At last, a 'Best Of...' collection that people will have taken care over!!"

As the acoustic All About Eve tour draws nearer it appears that it will not include Mark but only the other three. Julianne : "No Mark. We really mean VERY unplugged here. Mark is a real full-kit drummer and is very averse to playing bongs and congas and maracas and tambourines and such, so, it'll just be the three musketeers ..." The full electric dates that the band hoped to organise
for Julianne : "Breaking even is one thing, but we would actually lose money and we can't afford to. It still is something that we want to do and it may well be that it would have to happen later in the year, hopefully in conjunction with the release of an AAE album.... But who knows. It's all speculation at this point sadly." So there could be a new Eve's album ? Julianne : "Personally, I would dearly love to do a new studio album. I am positive this will happen, but, who knows when as we are dependent upon everyone's availability. It's got to happen though....."
All About Eve are due to play the Borderline, London for a one off, unplugged set in January (17th) and more dates are also plannned for. Read more ...
