December
14th 1997 More news on Julianne's current activities, why she split with Marty
and her job. Also Mark Price's latest job news.
November 15th 1997 A small snippit of news has emerged with a glimmer
of hope that Julianne may not have given up completely on her musical
career. In a postcard to a friend of hers she wrote that she has "taken
another step back from music but I am started to write again". Lets
just hope to hear more soon.
September 28th 1997 It seems Julianne's musical career is once
again up in the air. The project she had undertaken with Marty is now
abandoned and her plans are not know. For more on this news.
September
18th 1997 The band put together by Andy Cousins (Ex-All About Eve
/ Mission and Mice stand-in) has just recently been signed to Maverick
records, a label fronted by non-other than Madonna. The band called LucyNation,
also includes Anna Nystrom and Mark Thwaite, will record their debut
album over the next three months. All the members played with Julianne
as a temporary line-up in the last two Mice gigs.
Mark Thwaite describes the material "like a cross between Bjork,
Smashing Pumpkins and Portishead..."
August
9th 1997 In A recent article its become unclear whether the new acoustic
material Julianne and Marty are working on will be released under the
'All About Eve' title or not.
Marty : "For me it's always an All About Eve record if Julianne sings."
Marty says. "Mice, her first solo album, could have been released
as All About Eve. If Roger Waters had released his albums as Pink Floyd,
he certainly would have had more success. And we're not in the position
actually to release records with an obscure name in the hope that people
will like it, no matter who's behind it. If you've built up a good name
and still do what this name stands for, then you should use this name
without further ado, I think. I still don't know who will be on this album
besides us two, but as long as Julianne sings, All About Eve is justified."
July
19th 1997 Julianne and Marty are back in his studio again. They are
now putting the vocals to the fifteen or so tracks that they written so
far.
July
10th 1997 The Seeing Stars
album has now been released in Denmark and Norway, with interest from
Germany, Brazil and Australia.
June
27th 1997 Marty and Julianne plan on doing an all accoustic UK tour.
They'll be playing accoustic All About Eve tracks as well as more recently
written material.
Marty : "We may do some live gigs if the window of oppurtunity opens.
We're looking for an agent who likes what we do. We are working on new
songs at the same time as running through some old acoustic versions of
things. We would want to play new songs as well as old. So if we get some
new songs finished, we find an agent. If I'm not off somewhere doing a
Church Lp, then we probably will do some shows."
May
24th 1997 In a mail to Brian Smith (of The Church mailing list) Marty
indicates that steady progress is being made with the new material Julianne
and he are working on together.
"Julianne is coming down tomorrow. We have about five shells of songs
and hope to get a substantial amount of material to work on and then see
which pieces are heading in the direction we want to go in."
May
16th 1997 In an artcile with a Swedish magazine Marty discussed how
the re-union of All About Eve wasn't likely. 'No, no, no, absolutely
not. I didn't realize that it's so hard to understand the fact that me,
Mark and Andy are working on a project together ... that we're all working
together on a few tracks on Julianne's record without any relation to
All About Eve. Julianne doesn't want that. But we still like working together.'
