Former All About Eve singer Julianne Regan might have been quiet as a church mouse in the two years since the band split.

But a period on the dole and various dead end jobs later, she's back with a cracking new band Mice - who will soon be making their squeak heard.

The trio release a sizzling debut single, Mat's Prozac, on Monday and the wall of guitar noise and generally more upbeat singing will come as a shock to anyone who expected Julianne to slip back into dreamy All About Eve mode.

"Everyone is surprised that it's not like the Julianne of old and thats the best compliment I could have for a new band", she says. "If I wanted to stay in the old cycle I'd just have relaunched All About Eve. This is new - and its really got me excited again. I've found exactly the right people now for Mice and I'm loving being in a band again." All About Eve split in 1993 after a move to MCA from Phonogram didn't pay off. "It was all a bit nasty and petty," recalls Julianne.
Now Mice are working on a debut album and tour dates will follow early next year.
